Premier 2 Minor Hurling Opening Day review - 21/04/2014

The opening round of the Premier 2 championship saw an amazing 14 goals and 69 points scored as Courcey Rovers, Charleville and Ballinhassig all secured places in the 3rd round of the championship.

There was double header at Ballinlough which played host to Ballinhassig against St Colmans and Youghal taken on Courcey Rovers.

Success for Ballinhassig

For Ballinhassig, an early unsought on the St.Colmans goal set them up for their victory despite a major late come back from the East Cork side. With Ballinhassig running out winners, full time score Ballinhassig 3-13, St Colmans 1-10.

A point to spare for Courcey’s

Courcey Rovers had a point to spare over Youghal as they booked their place in the 3rd round. A game which saw both teams in  control at different stages of the game. Courcey will have their second goal to thank for ensure their path in to the next round. full time score Courcey Rovers 2-9, Youghal 1-11.

Five goal Charleville move on

Charleville have five goals to thank for helping them to victory over a courageous Ballincollig side that fought all the way to the end, but could not raise the green flags to need to pull the score back.

Final score Charleville 5-14, Ballincollig 2-12,
