At last night’s club meeting, Sean Murphy, Knocknacurra was ratified as Courcey Rovers GAA Club President for the next 5 years.  Sean has a long association with Courceys as a player, mentor and club officer in both Underage and Adult Club’s, in addition to being involved in many organisations within the parish of Courceys. 

Sean was underage treasurer from 1992 to 1994. He was adult club chairman from 1995 to 2000.  Sean is strongly associated with some key successes and developments within our Club. During his time as chairman, the club won the U21 County Hurling Championship and in 1999 the club reached the Junior Hurling County Final.  From 1997 under Sean’s leadership work commenced on the building of our existing club dressing rooms and meeting rooms.

Sean is well known and respected outside of Courceys. He is currently a Cork County Board delegate and previously represented Courceys as a Carrigdhoun and Mid Cork delegate.
